Bill help

Hospital charity care finder

Nonprofit hospitals must have a financial assistance policy. Many give free or discounted care based on income. Pick your state. We list every Nebraska system and the largest system in each other state, with more hospitals coming. The Dollar For link below works anywhere in the US.

How it works

1. Find your hospital below and read its policy. 2. Ask for the application, even if your bill is already in collections. Federal rules give you at least 240 days from the first bill to apply. 3. Send proof of income. 4. Ask the hospital to pause collections while it reviews.

Not sure where your income falls? Use the coverage check to see your percent of the poverty level.

About this data

Income limits are copied from each hospital's own policy, checked 2026-11-03. Policies change. The hospital's current policy is what counts. "Poverty level" means the HHS poverty guidelines (2026 Federal Register). Not legal or medical advice.
